Club History
Neston Nomads Football Club was official formed in 1983. After sometime and many hours of football, in 2015 Neston Nomads FC obtained the FA Charter Standard Community Club Status. Ever since the beginning, inspirational coaches took the reins of many great teams and steered them to victory. Even now many years later Neston Nomads Football Club, are coaching and nurturing the future stars of the football world…… we are a family.
The club was founded in 1983 by our forma chairman & president Bruce Munnerley and Ian McKellar, with Colin Jones as a coach. The support of Frank Heseltine was pivotal from the onset, who has remained with the club for the last 36 years. The club initially joined the Wallasey Junior League. Within a week of commencing training has in excess of children wanting to play. This prompted the immediate formation of a second team.
Since this time the club has gone strength to strength, becoming a Charter Standard Club, before progressing to a Community Club.
The club being all about “Community” and it now has over 979 people that are active in playing and coaching at Nomads
Here at Neston Nomads FC we coach players of all ages and abilities, we provide a safe and friendly environment to help them to learn, to grow and to achieve their maximum potential while most importantly having fun.
Our club is inspired and guided by the FA's England DNA and we deliver age-appropriate coaching to support long- term player development. As a club we provide structure within our coaching in 3 main age phases: Foundation (5 to 11 years), Youth Development (12 to 16 years) and Adult or Professional Development (17+).
Neston Nomads FC puts the child and their needs at the centre of all activity; we encourage all players to try their best and make the most of their abilities and we offer a challenging but supportive environment where children can learn from their mistakes without undue pressure and anxiety and to be free to play during matches.
With positive encouragement from parents and coaches. We believe that this environment is optimum for our players to progress, not only individually, but also as a team.
Neston Nomads' coaching philosophy promotes good behaviour and respect for others inside and outside playing fields. This respect and good behaviour allows the children to progress not only as footballers, but as individuals
At Neston Nomads we aim to provide Information from the touchline in the form of occasional questions and encouragement from the coaching staff, and patrolling the touchline giving continuous shouted instructions must not happen.
All coaches at our club must apply for a FA CRB Enhanced Disclosure and are required to strictly follow the Respect Code of Conduct.
Our development centre, is a great opportunity to give your child time with quality coaches that will provide them with a kickstart to their footballing career.
Our development centre is the foundation to the club and the breeding ground for great footballers of the future.
We have many coaches on hand to give your child the opportunity to learn key skills, that will develop them into fantastic all rounded players.
When training we look to engage the players with fun and inspiring games that concentrate on specific skill sets, that will give them a strong foundation for the future.
Here at the development centre, we believe that team building is vital.
We have built a strong bond, not only with players, but parents also, we are a family. We watch players progress and develop and provide them with a pathway into competitive football as part of our club, in the hope that they will represent Neston Nomads 1st Team one day.
